When you want to choose the right dress, the bride-to-be spends a huge amount of time shopping and fitting every wedding dress imaginable so that she can find the perfect dress that she will wear during her special day. Think of it like this, the wedding is the main event but the bridal dress is a prelude to that big event.

The first thing that you have to think of when you are out there shopping for the right wedding dress is your body type. Certain body types look good in a specific cut of wedding dress so you have to know which one will work best for you and showcase your features well. If you are a petite woman, you will want to look like you are longer and taller than you actually are so you can opt to have an off shoulder dress or a strapless dress which will elongate your body. On the other hand, if you have a pear-shaped body, you can opt to have an empire-cut dress so your top doesn’t look too heavy.

Another thing to consider is your skin tone. You need to choose a colour which will best complement your skin tone. Of course, ivory is a favourite among all the brides. Plus, it is a neutral colour which goes best with any skin colour. But feel free to explore other shades, as well.

You also need to think of the wedding venue. If it will be held in a church or a hotel, you need to abide with the dress code and choose a dress which is more on the conservative and traditional side. However, if you have a different and informal setting for your wedding, you can choose dresses which are also informal and show your personality well. The weather should also be considered.

This will sound crazy but brides are highly encouraged to fit any bridal dress that their hands can reach. Try as many dresses as you can because if you keep a closed mind towards the process, it will be much harder to choose the righty wedding gown.
